We are the first culinary herb grower in the U.S to be certified as a sustainable grower. Now that’s pretty cool. We accomplished this by utilizing reusable resources such as solar power energy. Here in the Coachella Valley, we average about 354 days of pure sunshine and sunshine = no electricity for lights. And get this, our hydroponic growing allows us to use 80% LESS water than field grown crops!
As you may know, all of our products are living! Because of this, the herbs last longer which means less food waste. We also use geothermal heat and beneficial insects. You might be thinking, how can insects possibly be beneficial for our herbs? Well these little critters, such as ladybugs, are very helpful to us. Instead of using pesticides, we let the good bugs eat the bad ones and that’s what helps our plants flourish.
