Super Bowl Snacks (or just snacks)

There are two types of people: the folks that watch the Super Bowl and the folks that mostly show up for the food and commercials. Which are you?

Not gonna lie, we are mostly there for the food. Oh, and we almost forgot about the half time show! That’s always fun, too. But whether you are there to watch the game or not, the must have for a good Super Bowl watch party is good food. Like most things in life, food is the center of the party, and we’re here for that!

Weve put together a couple ideas for some snacks you can bring to the party and not feel totally terrible indulging in the whole time. That’s a win-win and the game hasn’t even started yet. First up, we bring to you some simple dips. We love dips because they are easy to put together and they tend to be crowd pleasers. This Dill Dip is something so simple and it can be made ultra-healthy or… not! Quick to put together, it can be paired with chips or sliced veggies. Feel free to sub out the sour cream for all Greek yogurt if you want to keep things on the lower calorie side. Next up, we have this Herby Avocado Dip. Again, quick and simple to put together and pairs great with root veggie chips, sweet potato chips, or sliced veggies. It’s packed with flavor from all the herbs, and you can make this creamy or leave it more on the chunky side. This is a great recipe to use any leftover herbs in as well. If you don’t have exactly what the recipe calls for, but you have some other herbs on hand that you’d like to use before they go south, toss them in. The more the merrier, and they will come together to taste wonderful.

Next up we have nachos. Not just any nachos, though. To mix things up and to give you a healthier, veggie filled option, we swapped the chips for roasted bell peppers and can we just say, wow! These Nachos with a Twist are hard to stop eating, they’re that good. Relatively simple to put together and easy to customize with whatever you normally like to add to nachos, these are a home run. Wrong sport, but you know what we mean.

Last up, a classic. We like any reason to whip out this recipe. An oldie, but a goodie, so to speak. Our Bruschetta recipe is simply delicious. Slightly more elevated, but we just couldn’t resist adding it to the roster. (Man, our sports puns are on point today!) This is a serve warm kind of a snack, so keep that in mind when planning. That being said, you can prep this the day before by making the tomato mixture and letting it rest in the fridge overnight. Slice the mozzarella cheese and store in an airtight container and pre-slice your bread. That way you are ready to assemble and pop in the oven to melt the cheese. These are best served with your favorite red wine.

We hope you are feeling excited and encouraged to make some yummy food! Oh, and we hope you also have so much fun watching the Super Bowl, whether you are there for the food, the commercials, or the actual football game.

Cheers!

  • I now have mint, basil and rosemary all growing on my kitchen window sill. (Along with some pothos I am rooting.) I wanted to post a picture but can’t see how. They are not only beautiful I can’t wait to use the fresh herbs in the chili I make for menudo! I usually use the dried herbs. Can’t wait to taste the difference.
